Cada semana, os estudantes do Ciências Online Nicolinha & Kids participam do Programa Olhar Espacial, onde têm a oportunidade de selecionar duas imagens astronômicas que se destacaram nos últimos dias. Nesta semana, as escolhas foram feitas por Clara Porto, de 16 anos, aluna do Colégio Projeção em Brasília, e Yasmim Santos Silva, também de 16 anos, aluna do IFCE em Fortaleza, Ceará.
Cabeça do Cavalo
Clara Porto optou pelo fascinante registro da Nebulosa Barnard 33, carinhosamente conhecida como a Nebulosa da Cabeça do Cavalo. Esculpida a partir das nuvens moleculares do Complexo Nebular de Órion, essa obra cósmica é um dos alvos favoritos dos astrofotógrafos. A imagem revela a Cabeça do Cavalo graças à vasta nebulosa de emissão IC 434, destacada em vermelho. Descoberta em 1888 por Williamina Fleming, uma das “Calculadoras de Harvard”, essa escultura cósmica está localizada a cerca de 1500 anos-luz de distância, na direção da Constelação de Órion.
Olho de Deus (Nebulosa da Hélice)
Já Yasmim Santos Silva escolheu a icônica imagem da Nebulosa da Hélice, também conhecida como NGC 7293 ou Caldwell 63. Esta nebulosa planetária, uma das mais próximas da Terra, reside a aproximadamente 650 anos-luz de distância, na direção da Constelação do Aquário. Formada pela expulsão das camadas externas de uma estrela em sua fase final de evolução, a Nebulosa da Hélice apresenta um formato peculiar, muitas vezes chamado de “Nebulosa do Olho de Deus” devido à sua aparência.
